Welcome!

Visitors often ask similar questions before they arrive.  Here are answers to some of those questions.

Please, do not show up unannounced. We request this to ensure a quality visitor experience and the peace of the residents.  Contact us in advance, preferably in writing, and tell us a little about your inward journey, why you are interested in exploring Morning Star, and the proposed dates of your visit.  We will confirm if your plans are workable for us and make further arrangements.  We host visitors for three days every two weeks.  If you wish to have a longer visit, let us know your intention. After spending a day together we can discuss this option.  If you are making a journey to come here from far away or have some other special circumstance, let us know, and we will try to accommodate.

We ask visitors to make a donation of $12 - $30 per day (sliding scale).  This helps to cover the cost of your stay (including food)...  If you are unable to do this, other arrangements may be possible.

We encourage visitors to join in our rhythms of work, play, and solo time.  This way, you are able to meet and connect with the people who live here, and gain a feel for our life.  If you are interested in a retreat rather than joining in our daily rhythms, please inquire and we will contact you with more information.

We have limited indoor lodging, so please come prepared with a tent and a sleeping bag.  Depending on how many visitors are here, and on your personal situation, a guest cabin, tipi, or bedroom may be available.

Meals are vegan and organic.  During the summer months most of the produce will be fresh from our garden…amazing salads!  If you have any special dietary requirements, please let us know and we can work it out together.

If you are driving a vehicle, we suggest that you park at the bottom of the 2.5 km driveway.  The walk is an excellent time to quiet the mind and re-connect with the clear, heart center within before entering our community.  If walking up the hill is not possible for you, limited parking is available further up the driveway.  You will need a high clearance or 4x4 vehicle to negotiate the road.

We ask that you leave your dogs at home, as they can get into the creeks, which are the source of our drinking water.

We look forwards to hearing from you!
